They are sometimes hard to see. What is not showing in the pic is the other 10-15 burros on the other side of the road (to the right). We have many herds of these on base, along with horses, deer, big horn sheep, coyotes, etc.
These are very dumb animals. They look right at you as you run into them, i.e. they will not move out of the way. One was hit on hwy 95 last week
